  • In building a loving, exceptionally healthy, multiplying disciple…a core piece of our vision is to EQuip you as a Christ-follower to live out that mission. One of the core proficiencies we are striving to equip you in…is your Biblical literacy. This means dramatically increasing our knowledge of the Word of God, allowing the love of God to propel us, and living out a life of obedience to the commands of God.

  • Our EQ Hour classes will be offered beginning Sunday, February 1.

  • (Adults) We Love: The Great Commandment—Building a Vibrant Love for God and Others | Jim Nichols & John Peterson | 10:30-11:30 AM

Once Jesus was asked by an expert in the Scriptures, “What’s the most important thing?” With laser-sharp focus, he called us to be people who love God and love others with all that we are. What is Jesus most concerned about as he looks at us and our world? That we love God and others. This is so simple, yet so profound. Jesus invites us to join God in bringing his kingdom to earth. And as we engage in fulfilling Jesus’ heart’s desire, we are invited into living the greatest life possible. This course is a journey into the heart of Jesus. We’ll meet for 12 weeks starting February 1 (not meeting Easter Sunday) to explore what it means to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. As we examine our hearts and lives, we will seek to open ourselves to God’s transforming work.

(Adults) We Make Disciples | Phil Petersen & Bill Blancke | 10:30-11:30 AM

At Parkside Church, our mission is to love and make disciples.  Many churches talk about this, but, what does that look like?   How did Jesus make disciples and how does transformation happen in lives?  Disciples are apprentices of Jesus who increasingly are like Jesus and who allow the life of Jesus to flow through us in serving others.  If you have a desire to grow as a disciple of Jesus and help others to be more like Jesus, this class is for you! We’ll meet for 12 weeks starting February 1 (not meeting Easter Sunday).

(High School) Discovering You | Mary Ann Blezien | 10:30-11:30 AM

Want to learn more about the Holy Spirit and the unique spiritual gifts you have? We’ll meet for 4 weeks starting February 1. In this study, you will discover more about the Holy Spirit, spiritual gifts, and how you can use your gifts. This study will be discussion driven and involve activities such as reading different passages of scripture together and taking a spiritual gifts assessment.

(Adults) Practicing the Way | Julie Zell | 9:00-10:00 AM

Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer is about intentionally arranging your life around the practices of Jesus so that you can become more like Him. Following Jesus is not just about belief, but about adopting rhythms that reshape your heart over time. At Parkside we want you to be fully engaged in the life of discipleship, this group will help you better understand the heart of what we mean in our mission of making disciples who make disciples. We’ll meet for 8 weeks starting February 8 and the time will consist of discussing the book by John Mark Comer, watching several engaging and thought-provoking videos and group discussion.

(Parents & Their Kids 5+) Family Connect | Katy Eisfeld | 10:30-11:30 AM

We’ll meet for 6 weeks starting March 15 (not meeting Easter Sunday) to further explore content from the Connected Families Seminar last November! This is for the whole family ages 5+ to learn about the Connected Families Framework in a fun, interactive way! Each week we will use scripture, role plays, games, and object lessons to talk through the framework: You are safe with me, You are loved no matter what, You are called and capable, and You are responsible for your actions.
If you missed the seminar in November, you can still join the class. We recommend familiarizing yourself with the Connected Families concepts via their website: www.connectedfamilies.org
